Pearl Cinema Review - Nirvana Royal

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_eiFn5GqHVUz91b8NcX9sAyEKARl-wWF This was an excellently filmed drama on Amazon Prime.   From (wikipedia) this drama was based on a novel by Xue Man Liang Yuan, filmed in Xiangshan Film and Television town in Zhejiang, China.  You will notice as you watch Chinese dramas, that they use similar sets.  It's like the old days of filming during the 1930's when you saw the same western town in several different movies.  Also you saw the same actors and actresses in other dramas. Rrminds me of the Hollywood studio system in the 1930’s when contracted actors would be seen in many of the movies in various parts as characters.
The two main stars were outstanding playing exceedingly demanding emotional roles Lou Jin as Xiaowei Dingquan the misunderstood Crown Prince and Li Yitong as Lu Wenliang his first and only love whose family is slaughter by order of the Crown Prince’s father.
It is the story of a young crown prince that goes through increasingly unfair betrayals, deceptions, misunderstandings by most everyone except his mentor and teacher.  His father, the emperor, has this strange way of preparing his son as his successor.

There are always so many twists and turns in Chinese dramas it keeps you glued to the computer/TV so that you want to know what happens next.  This is certainly one of them.

It is a battle against good and evil, right and wrong.  And how important it is to communicate.  Lack of communication breeds distrust and misunderstanding.

Don't want to give away the plot but the actor who plays the young prince, Xiao Dingquan is excellent.  His name is Luo Jin.  He also played in Mu Guiling Takes Command as a secondary character that you notice throughout the movie.   The actress who played the young woman who has revenge on her mind against him is Li Yitong, who has also starred is several Chinese productions. Both were nominated as Best Actors.  When you watch this drama you will understand why.
