Pearl Cinema Review - Vagabond

Netflix offers a Korean drama called “Vagabond” in sixteen episodes starring  Lee Seung-Gi and Bae Suzy.

It is a fictional look at how the “deep state” operates using government as its shield. I was impressed with the acting of several of the characters in the drama especially Lee Seung-Gi.  Seung-gi who in February 1, 2016, Lee began his 21 months of mandatory military service as active duty soldier, entering Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center in Chungcheongnam-do.[81] After training there for five weeks he was dispatched to his assigned role following the completion ceremony.[82] Lee was formally discharged on October 31, 2017 from the military at Jeungpyeong County in North Chungcheong Province where he was a member of the special forces (13th Special Forces Brigade 'Black Panther', Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command).[ “ (quote from Wikipedia”.
Very few ROK soldiers achieve this status. So his role as Cha Dal-Gun was very believable.
Bae Suzy has starred in many Korea dramas as well.  Film in Morocco, Portugal and South Korea this drama has non-stop action and a riveting plot of twists and turns.

It has a minimum of offensive language at least in the English subtitles, but does have several heart wrenching bloody scenes.

It stops on the sixteenth episode leaving you with what happens next? Perhaps for season 2.

Asian dramas have translated the American serials of the 1930’s to the 1950’s into modern action mini-series.

I liked the casting of the characters. They were very believable.  Suzy Bae’s character Elsa was written a little less believsble but she played the part excellently.  I am not sure NIS agents would be allowed to wear long flowing hair which made her outstandingly beautiful but an easy target to spot.

Other then that I give this drama ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
