Pearl Cinema Review - Asian Dramas Worth Watching

THIS DRAMA SERIES, STAND BY ME WAS AIRED ON "VIKI" 2021. You can download the VIKI app on ROKU or your cell phone and for only $4.99 a month you can watch hundreds of great dramas, movies without commercials. STAND BY ME IS ONE OF THE GREAT ONES. 49 CHAPTERS, WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF IT. The telling and interweaving of Chess in this story line is really excellent. Perhaps it seems a little slow, but if you watched any chess game you know how much the thought process is involved. The acting was excellent --- China knows how to produce a quality movie with beautiful scenes and sets. Cheng Yi and Zhang Yu Xi have very believable chemistry. He Sheng Ming so believably cruel and Lulu Xuan so believably beautiful. And of course Han Dong is a great actor in anything he does. One thing you see in many of these movies filmed in China is a struggle between good and evil. Those in leadership who are good have to always surmount unbelievable odds. Sometimes you have to watch a movi...

I am recommending this Chinese Drama because of the story line. The two main characters played by Gulnezer Bextiyar (Kudi LiuLi/ Xian Dou Zi) and Timmy Xu (Pei Xing Jian) catches your interest right away. Although sometimes the character Kudi Liuli is unbelievable as a girl posting as a boy because she is too pretty, it all plays well into the storyline of that era when dress as a boy you were a boy. Timmy Xu please Pei Xing Jian excellently as did the actors who played the parts of the Eunuch Sun De Cheng and Crown Prince Li Zhi. It is 40 episodes and you can't stop watching. The ending is very beautiful for once. There are quite a bit of nailbiting tense scenes but truth prevails. Get out the popcorn and kleenex and enjoy this drama!

VINCENZO STARRING Song Joong-Ki. I decided to watch this because of Song Joong-Ki. And, I wasn't disappointed. The character Vincenzo is suave, handsome, smart and daring. It reminds me of 007 and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It is the best role since Descendants of the Sun because it showcases his talents but also his looks. The cast of characters are interesting and maybe a little predictable but the main star is Song Joong-Ki. He really pulls it off. I think you will enjoy watching this new TV series. I have only seen the first 4 episodes but I like what I am seeing and hopefully the fans of Joong-Ki will like it as well. So pop come homemade popcorn and enjoy this latest TV drama on Netflix.

This video was shown on Viki.com my choice for watching Asian Dramas. What attracted me to watch this drama was its high rating. I was not disappointed. The story is about three families with three children who were drawn together because of life issues. What was amazing to me was the casting. The families actually looked like they were related unlike American dramas who cast stars whether or not they look like other family members. It shares real life issues that children face as kids and that follow them through young adult hood. It also shares keys to getting breakthroughs in life restoring faith and happiness while going through difficulties. The main character is a bright, self-willed but caring child named JianJian. Because I have a blog 7Jians as a fan clud for the new Enhypen Big Hit Group, Jake, Jay, Jungwon, Ice (Sunghoon), Ace, (Heesung), Ni-ki and Sunoo I know what Jian means strong and healthy and that is what little Jian is. She is strong on behalf of her tw...

I started watching this drama twice and left it for some of the other dramas I reviewed in this blog.  But the third time, I finally watched it from the beginning. Hyun Bin's part was so manly and strong.  and  Son Ye-Jin played beautifully the part of a successful business woman who had to come down to earth literally in a nation that was simple, kind and very humble.   It portrayed North Koreans as people who have the same emotions as people all over the world.  They love to laugh, love, sing, dance and of course eat.   What was nice in this drama that you saw at least four cameos of really big Korean stars playing a taxi driver, a secret agent, a movie star and a taxi driver.  Other notables were Captain Ri's father, actor Jeon Kuk-Hwan who is seen in many KDramas. Korean Dramas generally a well thought out stories with many twists and turns that somehow connect the characters together with destiny.  And, most of the time, although th...

This drama, Revolutionary Love, is a South Korean Drama.  The title is a little misleading.  It is not about a revolution in the political sense of the word but it is about the transformation of a young useless rich chaebol into a solid caring and courageous individual who takes on not only injustice, but his father and brother as well.  It is about three young people who's lives happen to intertwine in interesting look at parents, children and the conglomerate world of big business.  One thing that is very good about this drama is that it does have a redeeming ending as the crooked places are made straight and the good people remain good through the drama. It's fund to watch the character of Byun Hyuk and Kwon, Jae Hoon evolve.  The useless son, Byun Hyuk played by Choi Si-Won, the carefree part-time employee Baek Jun played by Kang So-ra and her long time friend and subservient character of Kwon, Jae Hoon played by Gong Myung.  Some interested oth...

I - LAND Viki.com's Successful New Reality Show I saw this post on Rakuten's VIKI.com channel and thought it was another sciene fiction drama or something to do with Noah's Ark.   I-Land is one of the best new ventures into reality television following the lives for 23 young lads who are competing to become the next big KPOP group.  This I-Land is a location especially built for this TV Reality Drama and has two sections.   Each week contestants have six days to practice a very difficult song and song routine selected by the judges.  Sometimes they compete individually, but most of the time they compete as a team.  The youngest contestant is 14 years old and the oldest 22 years old. The neat thing the judges are well known to the KPOP community they are Rain ( Jung Ji-hoon  ( Korean :  정지훈 , born June 25, 1982), better known by his  stage name   Rain  (Korean 비 IPA ['piː]), is a South Korean singer-songwr...
